Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." Genesis 32:26
Jacob had been through several hard decades of life when he faced an all-night wrestling match with an angel of God. Jacob needed to knwo that God was in his life and acting for his good, so he held on for all he was worth, refusing to let go until God blessed him.
We need that kind of determination in our faith. The Lord of the universe longs to see our tenacity. He doesn't want us to quit before the job is done. He is waiting for us to say, "No way. I'm not letting you go until you bless me, because I know you are a God of blessing and you are my true hope." If it's hard for you to hold on like that, then pray for the strength and patience to do it.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Hanging onto God pays off when we find ourselves multiplied and our blessing overflowing.
