He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
If you want your mind to be healthy, focus your thoughts on what is good and true. You are loved. You are the temple in which God dwells and through which God works. You are the hands and feet of Christ. You are part of the Body of Christ. That all makes you powerful because you are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
I think what got Jesus through was knowing how things would turn out - and keeping his eyes on the prize. Maybe this would help us as we strive to get healthy. Think of how good you will feel, how much more able you will be when you are more flexible, carrying less weight, unburdened by all the baggage.
Work to stay focused on Jesus, and the prize, and you will get through those tough days when you're stressed and want to eat an entire cake, and those hard evenings when you're tired and just want a little comfort food. Remember that those are the things that derail your good intentions. Have a cup of Sleepytime tea, sip it slowly, and let yourself fall into a restful sleep. The morning will come - and the sun will shine and you will have had another successful day of healthy eating.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Keep your eyes on Jesus, and you'll find that you are able to overcome anything that stands in your way.
