Blessed be the Lord,
for he has wondrously shown
his steadfast love to me.
~Psalm 31:21
In the silence of my soul, there is a sacred place where I go to heal myself of the hurtful words or actions of others. God alone waits for me there and welcomes me home.
The silence is a retreat where I go to rest in the presence of God. There I am relieved of all concern, for I am sheltered by divine love and acceptance.
In the stillness of my soul, God encourages me to become like a child - free of fear - so that I view the world with childlike wonder.
Ready to begin anew, I leave the silence refreshed and revitalized. I once again view the world through the eyes of a child and accept the good that awaits me. The harsh words and actions of others have no power over me, because I am enfolded in the love and care of God. I am at peace.
