Sometimes we – as God’s children, His special people, His beloved – still feel bad about ourselves. We still have poor self-esteem and low self-worth. We find ourselves feeling unworthy and even unloved or not deserving of anything good.
But here is the truth! In Matthew 13, Jesus teaches about the kingdom of heaven. He says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”
Do you see what Jesus’s words say about you? God was searching for you and considers you beautiful. He looked for a beautiful pearl and guess what? He found YOU. And then He sold all that He had – He gave His one and only Son – so that He could buy you!
He bought you for a great price because you are so valuable to Him. You are His treasure. You are His precious and beautiful gem!
I hope you will get this truth deeply embedded into your heart so that you believe it. So often we measure ourselves by the world’s standards. Either from what other people have said to us or by what we see in the media. But the truth is, our only measurement for our worth is God, the Creator who fashioned us. And He considers you so beautiful that He gave His one and only Son so He could have you as His child. Only believe!
Be blessed, beautiful pearl! You are precious and valuable.
